⚡️Here is the headline you did not read after the Apple Event:
‘Apple pushes its price points up again’

⚡️Yes, the big story from the Apple event has to be how Apple has once again pushed up the price points of its new flagship phones. This has been Apple’s great success in the past few years: pushing up the price point of its iPhones even as it sells more and increases its margins.

⚡️Apple’s success comes from its understanding that smartphones are now the most essential commodity for a lot of its users across the world. This means they have very limited price elasticity, at least for those users. These customers will buy it a higher price as they are convinced of the value it brings to.

⚡️It has been slightly over a year ever since Apple updated its MacBook Air line-up. Last year in June, the Cupertino-based tech firm gave a minor spec bump to its ‘Air’ laptop by simply increasing the clock speed of the processor from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz. Rest of the specifications stayed the same as the 2015 model. The design also remains the same for now. But it looks like another update is coming to the MacBook Air line up this year.

⚡️According to TrendForce analytics website, Apple could launch a refreshed version of MacBook Air in Q3 2018. This basically means July, August and September and since we are already through July and half of August, we’re just left with a month and a half window, if the report from TrendForce holds any weight.

⚡️New Delhi: “Our internal review has revealed that in 2014, the then UIDAI helpline number and the 112 distress helpline number were inadvertently coded into the setup wizard of the Android release given to OEMs (Original equipment manufacturers) for use in India and has remained there since.

⚡️”Since the numbers get listed on a user’s contact list these get transferred accordingly to the contacts on any new device,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement.

⚡️Google apologised for the same and said the numbers can be manually deleted from the phones. It also promised to fix the same in future editions of its setup wizard.

⚡️More recently, a report suggested that Nokia X5 will be launching on July 17 (today). However, the company is yet to confirm the launch date so it is not for sure if we will actually see the smartphone launching today or not. We think that since the issue was regarding venue only, it shouldn’t take long for the firm to launch the device.
